So I know that there's not a lot of people on here right now, but I gotta say, I think it's cool to have found a forum for Matrix fans. The franchise meant a lot to me growing up, especially the sequels–I'm one of those weirdos who prefers them to the original...I know, I know... –so it's cool to have found a community of people who dig the series, too. Hopefully as whatever currently is happening with the series unfolds, we'll see more people find their way over
Definitely interesting. I'll be curious to see if we can tell, watching Matrix 4, what content in the original trilogy was more Lana's and what was more Lilly's.
I'm psyched about that too- the dude is a great writer. I know some people are mixed on Cloud Atlas, but I really felt like the Wachowski's and Mitchell really came up with something special there. Hopefully that added input will really pay off here.
It's basically a beat-for-beat walkthrough of the story, as opposed to an official script. Google defines it as "a piece of prose, typically the step between scene cards (index cards) and the first draft of a screenplay for a motion picture, televis…
Good points. The fact that he's writing a treatment vs. a screenplay is a good thing to point out, I totally overlooked that. I saw the thing about the Writer's Room as well, I think it was on Birth Movies Death–http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2017/03/1…
So I guess Mary Alice is still alive, although her last acting credit was way back in 2005, so who knows if she's still able or interested. As unfortunate as it was that we lost Gloria Foster–and I really mean that, she was an amazing actress–it wei…
I'm definitely hopeful for Ready Player One, although I just looked it up and it looks like he's again listed as a cowriter. That's what's weird about Penn's work–for the most part, he seems to do almost solely co-writing work, which makes it hard t…
Oh yeah, I like all three of those, especially Emma Stone–I actually think it could be a pretty cool move on her part to counter people's expectations for the types of roles she can/should play. She'd definitely rock the shades, that's for sure.
I…
Agreed, especially with some of the Niobe material. It's funny, I've always thought it was weird how, in the Matrix Revolutions, Niobe mentions to Morpheus that she saw the Oracle. To those of us who played Enter the Matrix, it's a really cool Easte…
So I won't lie, as much as I like the direction that Zak Penn seems to be going with this, I do worry that it's, you know, Zak Penn. I love Incident at Loch Ness and X2 and really like The Incredible Hulk, but in all three of those cases, he acted a…
Agreed–it's hard to imagine them keeping The Matrix Online as canon. I never did play it, but I followed where the story went on the periphery...it was interesting, but I think Warner Bros. would just as soon wipe the slate completely clean post-Rev…
So I just looked up Burlyman Entertainment–it looks like their Facebook page's last update was in December 2014, although the fact that they haven't taken it down maybe is a sign that they still want to do some more stuff down the road? It'd be cool…
I always liked how Ghost had feelings for Trinity. Obviously it wasn't something that they had a lot of time to really delve into, but I always thought that it was a nice wrinkle that made Ghost just a bit more interesting as a character. And Sparks…
I am too. I actually like the idea of him as a young Morpheus, but I did he also projects enough of an innate curiosity that he'd fit in well as an all-new character, too.
So it's always bugged me that the Matrix never got any novels...I was one of those nerds in the mid 2000s who tried writing his own Matrix stories haha. I've also always been a little surprised that The Matrix didn't delve more into comics than it d…
I'd be curious, if they took more of a sequel route, how/if they would deal with the story as it was continued in Matrix Online. Or would it be more likely that they would just pull a Disney and decanonize it?
I'd love for someone like Duncan Jones to jump in and play around. I wasn't a huge fan of Warcraft, but I really liked his approach to heady material in Moon and Source Code.
