No joke - this is real. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Lana Wachowski are all back. No word yet on whether Laurence Fishburne will be back - the article mentions that they may recast his role with a younger actor...so maybe this is going to be a prequel of some sort? Based on the article, it also doesn't look like Lily Wachowski is involved - it appears that this is Lana Wachowski's baby.
Not sure if anyone else is on this forum currently, but if you are, let me know - are you as excited as I am???

The Matrix Online was once canon... but like the Star Wars Legends, I think The Matrix Online is now going to be considered as such: "The Matrix Legends." The Matrix 4, I believe, will completely retcon TMO.
